Camping Guide
RV Camping in Shreveport, Louisiana
PapaMawga's RV and Camping is a 100-acre farm campground in Shreveport, Louisiana, about a mile off the Interstate 20 corridor in the northwest corner of the state. Ten full-hookup sites sit among working fields, a pecan grove and the grounds of a corn maze that has drawn families here every October since 1999.
A farm stay, not a parking lot
Most RV stops on this stretch of I-20 are gravel rows behind a fuel station. This one is a working farm. You pull in past the produce fields, park on a level pad, and look out at pasture instead of pavement. Evenings are quiet and the night sky is properly dark. It is the kind of place where the person who checks you in is also the person who grew the tomatoes on the store counter.
The ten sites
Each site has its own character, its own price and its own view. Pad lengths run from 40 to 60 feet, so big fifth wheels and long travel trailers both fit, and every site carries full hookups with 30 and 50-amp service.

What is included at every site
Water, sewer and electrical hookups come standard, along with farm-wide mesh Wi-Fi that actually reaches the sites. Spotless bathhouses with hot showers are tended daily, and the farm store stocks ice, propane, firewood, produce and hot pizza — so you can arrive without a supply run and still eat well. There is also a dog park on the farm, so travelling dogs have somewhere to run.
Pets are welcome
Dogs are welcome at every site on the farm. There is a dog park on-site, so your pup has somewhere to run while you settle in.
Life on the farm
The Activity Center is open to campers year-round, with a pool table, ping pong, air hockey, foosball and an indoor half-court. Miles of pasture and field walks start at your doorstep. In season the farm sells watermelon, cantaloupe, tomatoes, cucumbers and purple hull peas straight from the fields. In October the corn maze and pumpkin patch open, and roughly 35,000 visitors pass through the farm — book early if you want a site that month.
When to visit
Spring and autumn are the most comfortable months in northwest Louisiana, with mild days and cool nights. Summer is hot and humid, which makes the 50-amp service and the shade of the pecan grove worth seeking out. Winter is quiet and mild, and it is the easiest time of year to get the site you want on short notice.
Booking your stay
Reservations are made online and paid securely by card, so your site is confirmed immediately. Choose your site, dates, guest count and rig type, add any farm extras you would like, and check out. If you are unsure which site suits your rig, get in touch before you book — or read more about the farm.
